Portfolio Goals 2022: Update

Portfolio Goals 2022: Update

By Cje95 | Texas Boy in a DC World | 30 Aug 2022

In January of this year, I posted an article about the goals that I had for accumulating crypto this year. At the time I made the post I was looking for a job in Washington, D.C. wanting to get back on The Hill after interning for three different members in 2021. When I wrote the initial article that you can read here I broke up the total bags I wanted to accumulate into main holdings and then secondary holdings. Below are the initial goals that I had set for myself over the year.

2022 Crypto Goals

  • Bitcoin- 0.1 BTC
  • Ethereum- 1 ETH
  • DAI- 2,500 DAI
  • Tezos- 250 XTZ
  • The Graph- 500 GRT
  • Chiliz- 500 CHZ
  • Polygon- 250 MATIC
  • KuCoin Shares- 50 KCS

At the time I set this up some of the goals were much more manageable than others ones. Market conditions have also played a significant factor in my overall transactions and ability to invest/swap cryptos for one another as I had previously been able to do. Twelve days after I had released my initial goals I made some pretty significant transactions which led to my totals toward my goal below.

Update One

  • Bitcoin- 0.006986 BTC
  • Eth- 0.10604 ETH
  • DAI- 660.64 DAI
  • Tezos- 183.99 XTZ
  • The Graph- 420.09 GRT
  • Chiliz- 241.58 CHZ
  • Polygon- 43.96 MATIC on Coinbase and 5.474 MATIC on Polygon Network
  • KuCoin Share- 10.351 KCS

Since that update, a ton has changed in both the crypto market and in my personal life. Below is a quick updated look at where I stand in my yearly goals.

End of August Totals

  • Bitcoin-  .00702647 BTC in Cold Storage 0.01107593 on Hodlernaut
  • Eth- 0.23620936 ETH
  • DAI- 0 DAI
  • Tezos- 253.617978 XTZ
  • The Graph- 505.99 GRT Staking 533.61138191 GRT Total
  • Chiliz- 636.10254351 CHZ
  • Polygon- 194.5291 MATIC on Ethereum and 5.474 MATIC on Polygon Network
  • KuCoin Share- 15.54872189 KCS

At one point I had a great bag of 3,300 DAI however, I had LASIK done and instead of taping into any of my funds or assets I converted my DAI into fiat and paid for the operation as well as a trip back home to visit my parents. I have been fortunate enough to place near the top in the most recent contest on here about Tally Ho! and with staking churning out some fantastic results I have been able to get ahead on two cryptos Tezos and The Graph.

The biggest issue I face to hit these goals boils down to a little over half of my Bitcoin is currently stuck on the Hodlernaut platform. Luckily it was not a fortune and while a tough and painful lesson one that I am able to roll with for the time being. If my ETH is across a few wallets and this was done to help move some NFTs into cold storage as well as withdraw the DAI I had. I still think I have a pretty good chance at hitting that goal by the end of the year along with my MATIC goal.

Two that have changed considerably are the DAI which I have mentioned already along with KuCoin Shares (KCS). With the huge amount of instability and FUD that is being said about exchanges, KuCoin included I am not looking to increase the size of my holding. The amount I have now will only be increasing in the future due to the daily dividends and not through any sort of purchases.

In the next few weeks I will be looking into various other coins and tokens to see if there is one that I want to add to replace the DAI and KCS. I am not really sure which direction I am going to go I have thought about maybe GameFi or Layer 2 solutions but it remains up in the air. If anyone has any gems that they can think of that they would want to share feel free to comment them below and I will be sure to look into them!
