And We’re Off!

After a lot of confusion, last second changes and people getting sick the journey to DC has started! Initially, we were supposed to leave tomorrow the 29th however I was told on Christmas Day at 6pm it was moved to today.

While my family relaxing I kept packing away. While I did not get everything in the truck (and trailer as we did not have enough room in the truck alone) I got all of the important things and will ship the rest. I did have to miss a couple of Dr appointments that I will have to reschedule so I will be having to fly back to Houston by the end of January to get those squared away.

We left an hour later as one of the people got sick and decided to fly up. By doing this he left his brother to drive the 20 foot Uhaul truck alone. I was shocked to here that and I personally do not agree with it as this Uhaul is also towing the guys car. Since I have never driven a Uhaul that large with a car attached I cannot help him out so I will be looking to spell my roommate.

Not only are we behind schedule though for leaving late but we are also moving slower than expected. The brother driving the Uhaul is not going to fast as we are going around 50mph in a 75mph zone. We are about 4 and a half hours in and from what I understand another 5-6 hours away from our destination. It’ll be interesting to see how the rest of this trip shapes up. We have 18 wheelers and other Uhauls flying past us so people are defiantly getting edgy!

Stay safe out there!
