It is not the things we accumulate,
nor the things that happen to us that determine the quality of our lives,
but rather the attitude we employ in dealing with the world.
(Tao of the Dude- p.14)
In today's fast-paced world of constant stimulation and endless information, it is easy to lose sight of the most important things in life. We are all individuals, and as such have vastly different motivations. Some are driven by the need to make money, some let the pursuit of physical pleasure lead them through life. Others revel in helping others, and still others place family above all.
No person has all the answers.
No individual is 100 per cent correct.
All are fallible, and all sometimes fail.
But if we can remember to meet this world every day with a sense of wonder, a yearn to continue expanding our own personal knowledge, a drive to find beauty in those things or activities that spark joy in our lives, then the world will become a much better place.
Deal with the world with kindness.
Deal with each other with respect.
Explore the world with the curiosity of a child, testing it and yourself to find your highest self.
Never lose sight of the beauty that is you and let your soul walk in peace and happiness.
And lastly, never forget to Abide.
