Before going to work, I planted Japanese indigo, which will be used as a material for
creating indigo dye.
The leaves are harvested and soaked in water without being dried.
When mixed with quicklime, a blue powder settles at the bottom. In Japan, this is called “precipitated indigo.”
I am deeply moved by the small, yet powerful vitality.

If you change the medium you mix in, you can even make your own pastels.

Making watercolor paints and egg tempera paints is also a lot of fun. This year, I’m fully immersed in studying art materials, but next year I have my PhD review, which will be another exciting milestone to look forward to!
Thank you for always reading my work!
