Out the gate this sounds like a bad idea.
In practice it's turning out pretty bad too.
Wizz is an app that combines features of Tinder® (swiping through profiles), and of Omegle®, an online service designed to pair strangers in video chats which was shutdown following a lawsuit over child sexual abuse and exploitation.
It sounds like a bad idea even on paper.
Wizz’s “age verification” process is applying artificial intelligence to a selfie. This process is “age estimation”, and it's not accurate. Cybertip.ca analysts who are adults went through the facial recognition process and were able to create accounts on Wizz as minors.
In many cases those who offend against children and youth are themselves young in age and can access the app, meaning the safety claims by Wizz provide a false hope.
It has quickly turned into a predator hunting ground.
Keep your kids off Wizz please. It's full of predators.
