The participation in the after-call poker tournaments surged and transformed our friendly fun into a full swing poker season. I elaborated my first proposal and requested 500 UMA tokens for the whole season, which will be used as a prize pool for the top participants.

This proposal introduces a perpetual poker event that will take place after the weekly community call, with the purpose to boost the call’s attendance and general engagement of users in the UMA Discord.
The tl;dr is straight forward... 500 UMA tokens are allocated for the poker season, which will last until December. The members will earn points on a weekly basis, based on their place for each tournament, which will be added in the general leaderboard.
The prize pool will be shared between the top ranked users in the season leaderboard and the top 8 players in the December All-Star Game. 420 UMA to be distributed to the season’s top six players, while the remaining 80 UMA tokens to be distributed to the top 5 ranked players at the last game of the year, and various tips throughout the season.

The winner of each weekly event will receive 10 points, the runner-up will receive 7 points, the third place will receive 5 points and the fourth place will receive 3 points, while the 5th place will be awarded 2 points.. One point to be added for each participant no matter the place.
It feels like an eternity since 3-4 frens were gathering for a quick poker game, as the average number of participants is now 15 players. The 15th event of the season was a roller-coaster, managing to go out quickly after winning a big pot with a full-house.
The game was interesting to follow, because being a spectator helps you enjoy the drama. Crackers played excellent all the way, and won against a strong Infinity. Drum roll please... as the record in attendance went above and beyond! The previous all-time high was 16 players, and the 15th tournament raised the bar to 19 participants.
The UMAzing Poker Tournament #16 had good vibes, as I won the first hand and took an early advantage. It went smooth until the final table, and then won an extra juicy pot with two pairs. Both Smarty and Infinity started with better hands, and I was afraid of a late king or ace.
Nothing happened and I claimed the 15k tokens to secure the alpha spot. Two more players to take out, and was hard to lose such a massive advantage.
The number one rule in poker is the same as the number one rule in crypto... don't take anything for granted. I went in a silly duel and I was lucky my high card was higher than Infinity's high card!
It was game over soon after, after a quick flush helped me to set the trap. My all-in was matched and it was game over! I claimed my second crown of the season and got back on track with my gameplay.
Another positive attendance, with 17 participants. Some new players joined, and some regulars missed the event due to IRL commitments. Are you ready for some All-Star Game spoilers?
The All-Star Game (5th of December)
The All-Star Game will conclude the 2023 poker season, and the event is scheduled on the 5th of December at 7:45 PM UTC. The tournament has participation criteria, easy and flexible to make it accessible to the majority of the players.
The All-Star Game prizes are:
- 1st place: 18 UMA
- 2nd place: 15 UMA
- 3rd place: 12 UMA
- 4th place: 9 UMA
- 5th place: 6 UMA
- 6th place: 3 UMA
Any player that won a tournament throughout the season will automatically receive the ticket for the All-Star Game! Therefore, we have 8 participants that received the golden ticket!
There are 8 tournaments left from the regular season, and you are still on time for the biggest game of the year. You will get your ticket for the final show-down if you had a minimum of 8 participations throughout the UMAzing Poker season. I will also reserve the right to offer Wild Cards, just in case Risk Labs or UMA team members want to join us for the December game.
Less participations? Not an issue... if you accumulate at least 10 points. I want to see commitment and punctuality, but still keep the entry level low. The ten points can be achieved in the remaining games, as the winner of each weekly event will receive 10 points, the runner-up will receive 7 points, the third place will receive 5 points and the fourth place will receive 3 points, while the 5th place will be awarded 2 points. One point to be added for each participant no matter the place.
Based on the two additional requirements, eight more players will be eligible for an invite, joining the 8 champions. I am looking at the updated leaderboard and everyone can make it for the All-Star game! Eight more weeks and eight more games to secure your golden ticket, a higher spot in the leaderboard, and a bigger $UMA prize! The chase is on!
