Easy Ways To Begin Your Crypto Journey

By SuperNubz | SuperNubz | 12 May 2021

Hello reader and thank you for stopping by.

If you are new to the crypto scene it can be really confusing and even intimidating which seems to prevent a lot of people from entering the space. I recently had a couple friends ask for some more insight and even with my very limited knowledge on the subject it still sounds very complicated and confusing to most people.

This led me to putting together a small document with some resources and general things I have learned so I decided to include some of that here. I'd like to just introduce some good faucets I use that helped me dabble into crypto. I'm not going to go super in depth on what you need to get started but more so about where you can actually acquire the crypto.

Now admittedly this only would start someone with pennies a day but I find it helps familiarize you with crypto in general. (Full disclosure I will include some referral links but only for services I actively use myself).

So first off you are going to want a wallet. Similar to a cash wallet you might have, crypto wallets are where you store your funds. There's physical hardware wallets and online wallets to utilize. Make sure to do some research into what wallets can hold what coins because you don't want to send a coin to an incompatible wallet! I use Exodus because it offers interest on lots of coins so you can gain some extra for holding it there!

FAUCETS

Crypto faucets are typically websites or apps that will have you perform a menial task (CPATCHAs, surveys, ads, etc.) for a small payout of whatever currency it is for. Typically each payout will be pennies (or even fractions of a penny) worth but it depends on the faucet and the frequency that it lets you do it. Typically the ones that pay more will let you use it once a day and the ones that pay less will let you use it more frequently. You can usually search "(Coin of your choice) faucet" and find them that way but I will list a few that I use to get started.

Freebitco.in (https://freebitco.in/?r=11206119) - This BTC faucet I have been using for years. Its simple enough: Every hour you fill out a captcha and it rolls a random number generator to determine your payout.

The faucet also offers ways to gamble your BTC on futbol matches or the future price of BTC or even a HI-LO generator. (You stake bitcoin on wether you think it will roll a HI or LO number). Another cool function of the site is if you sign up for daily emails (only 1 per day) then you get a free spin on their daily wheel for a chance at prizes like satoshis, reward points, an iPhone, or a even a lambo!

But by FAR my favorite part of the site is that it can act as an instant access savings acount. They off 4.08% APY on your BTC as long as you hold atleast .0003BTC on the site. You can pull out any amount at any time for no cost and you can see your interest payouts daily. This faucet has been a staple in my daily routine.

Algorand Faucet(https://algorandfaucet.com/?ref=14vd2p) - A simple faucet that rewards you every three hours for filling out a CAPTCHA. Offers a chance to fill out a survey for extra redemptions and referrals also rewards them. Bonus: have it go to your Exodus wallet for that sweet 5.5% APY! Free crypto earned off your free crypto!

Ethereum(http://ethereumfaucet.info/ref/0xc811048449A80d9803dad746202102ef8c70C6ed) - Ethereum is all the buzz right now (with good reason too since it is on track to one day surpass BTC) so here is an easy way to build up a teeny amount of ETH.

Lolli(lolli.com referral code: 2U7WP4) - Lolli is a cool service I recently discovered. They have an app where you can redeem a free stack of satoshis just for opening the app but the cool part comes from the website/browser extension. Lolli offers BTC-back on purchases from vendors they list on their site. Some even off up to 20% of your purchase back in BTC. This is easily one of the best ways to get some free BTC so make sure to check if the site you are purchasing from is incuded on that list!

These are the faucets I tend to use daily but check out FaucetDump for even more!

MINING

Now I am not going to pretend I am even a little well-versed in mining but I did find some easily accesible ways to dabble in it.

NiceHash(nicehash.com) - Easy enough to navigate and you can even see what kind of profits you can expect based off your hardware.

unMineable(https://www.unmineable.com/coins referral dolx-zqkx for only a .75% fee!) - current program I use. Super easy to get started and you can choose from multiple coins to mine. Just make sure to look up compatible mining programs and decide what works best for you.

Hopefully this helped or was useful to someone more than just my two friends!

Thanks for taking the time to read and good luck!
