Glint is a reward token that was added to the Splinterlands ecosystem some time ago. For many—myself included—the token seemed somewhat mysterious at first; for a long while, the game featured only two signature tokens: DEC, which served as the ecosystem's stablecoin, and the governance token, Splintershard (SPS).

Over time, Glint was gradually introduced as an additional in-game reward and has now become one of the primary ways players are compensated for their playtime. Nowadays, Glint can be earned not only in ranked matches but also in tournaments, through Land gameplay, and in various other areas.

I recall mentioning that the costs to acquire items in the Glint Store had skyrocketed, making it seemingly impossible to obtain the new cards from the Conclave Arcana Rewards collection. However, after exploring the wide range of options—and specifically experiencing the ways to earn Glint in Survival mode—my perspective has shifted. Acquiring these cards is no longer impossible; rather, it requires players to be increasingly active within the ecosystem as a whole.

During the most recent Survival season, I was amazed by the amount of Glint I managed to accumulate. I was also impressed by the ongoing rewards I continued to receive after the season ended—including the 250k prize I previously mentioned, as well as rewards from the Splinterlands Survival - Ascension tournament. In this single game mode (Survival), you can earn Glint from bracket pools, the event itself, the Ascension tournament, and the leaderboard. On top of that, you receive an exclusive Survival card at the end.

Splinterlands Survival - 335K Glint Earned

Let's start with the largest amount of Glint—something many of you likely already know about: the Survival Mode bracket testing event. Those who have been following recent posts probably saw this coming. Shortly after the season ended, players who met the match count and win-rate requirements received the 250K Glint reward.

This single payout accounted for 75% of the total Glint earned from Survival, serving as a major incentive for players to participate and provide valuable feedback. It is highly likely that this event will eventually end, so take advantage of it while it lasts. Incidentally, at the start of the season, I found it odd that the 99% cooldown reduction remained in effect...

That changed when the Splinterlands team—via Clayboyn—announced that the Modern Bracket Testing for Survival Brackets 1 through 5 would return this season, with the same eligibility requirements to earn the bonuses.

Beyond this temporary event, Survival Mode offers two different ways for players to earn Glint. The first is through the Glint Pool specific to each bracket; as you win matches, you accumulate points, and at the end of the season, you receive a share of the pool proportional to your points relative to the other players. Last season, by playing 250 matches, I earned 35,273 Glint.

This means that, even before the season starts, you need to evaluate which season will allow you to score the most points and consider the size of the Glint pool, which varies by bracket. Finally, there is a leaderboard for each bracket; those who finish in the top positions with the highest ratings receive more Glint. So, beyond just winning many matches, you need to maintain a strong win rate to stay at the top. Last season, by finishing in the Top 9, I earned an extra 25K Glint.

At the end of the Survival season, as I understand it, all players who finished in the Top 25 of each bracket received an Ascension token in their End-of-Season (EOS) rewards. This token acts as an entry pass for the Splinterlands Survival - Ascension tournament, which awards participants between 15K and 300K Glint.

This tournament takes place a few days after the season ends, and the link is shared via a Discord announcement. According to the tournament details, a total of 103 players entered the last tournament. This means it is currently quite feasible to secure an Ascension token with relative ease, as there are fewer participating players than available slots—considering that the event's first five brackets alone could accommodate 125 participants. I have currently secured 61st place in the tournament, which guarantees me at least an extra 31,250 Glint.

Ultimately, if you add up all the different sources of Glint, you'll see that the total is even higher than what I showed—and depending on your performance, it could be higher still; you might perform better in the season or tournament, or achieve a better Leaderboard ranking. In total, we have 250K (tournament) + 35,273 (Glint Pool) + 25K (9th place Leaderboard) + 31,250 (Ascension Tournament—potentially even more). That brings the total to 341,523 Glint. And remember, you still have Modern, Wild, Land...
