The Phoenix Suns took a quick 2-0 lead on the Clippers to start the series, but as it has happened to be for the Clippers in these playoffs, they came back to take the 3rd game despite Khawhi Leonard being out with knee issues. Devin Booker had his way in both of those wins while scoring 40 or more, but it was Paul George and resiliency of the Clippers that provided fans of their team another serving of hope for another series comeback. The Clippers have already done something no other team has done in NBA history with being down 2 games to start a series and come back to win that series twice. It gives one reason to look at this series feel that it's gonna go down to the wire because the Suns have taken care of business all season including these playoffs. They dried up the Lakers hopes of repeating then went on to produce a symphony against the Jazz and they now look to serve the Clippers a fade from contention. There's always a few things to consider over the history of the NBA playoffs though. There haven't been too many young teams to come through the playoff's and get a title with limited experience of knowing how to handle the energy, anxiety, crowds, and key moments at the highest level of the game such as these. All the legends of the game that won their first and/or multiple titles had to go through it, make it back to that familiar place, and then be able to conquer it. With that said, could the Suns become the team with very little playoff experience as a whole on their roster and go all the way to the championship? Logic and history would say no, but I previously wrote about how they would have won the championship in the bubble had they been able to participate beyond the play in. I believe that's why they went so hard against the Lakers to prove a point to themselves and all who watched. I don't even think the Lakers were mentally prepared for or even thought about the Suns coming into the playoffs with a driven mentality of being undefeated in the bubble, but still not having a chance to play for the trophy. However, I do think they may be facing the one team that had an eye on them and knew they would be a formidable opponent should they meet in the future playoffs. Maybe head coach Ty Lue reminded the Clips about the Suns before game 3 along with the fact they've come back twice already from said deficit. Tonight will be a game to remember imo. This game is about heart, not stats. This game is about the will to win for both teams and whoever imposes their will through 4 quarters will win this game. My pick for this game is the Suns taking win and control of the series despite the lack of experience. The Suns with Chris Paul at the helm play with extreme intelligence and heart in the way a general is supposed to lead on the court. Suns 110-103 over the Clippers. Enjoy the game.
