The first game of the NBA Finals was one where the Lakers showed that 5 months off along with the Kobe Bryant tragedy may have only served to make them hungrier to be the last team standing this season. In what looked like it would be a close game between the two teams, the Lakers took over and took off the run way to douse the fire of the Miami Heat. Yes, I know there will be many to use the injuries the Heat suffered in the game, but injuries are a part of the game. At the same time, let's keep in mind that it's only game one, but Anthony Davis played with a fire and emotion that I don't recall seeing. I saw a man that realized the moment and the stage and didn't shy away from it at all in any point of the game. He played with a ferocity and calmness with control at the same time that helped put the full power of the Lakers on display for the world to see. Lebron did what he does which is lead the charge mentally and Howard continued to show that he's still a force as well. The Lakers played such a disciplined defense more than I've seen them do in the bubble and it helped them contain any run the Heat attempted to make while trying to comeback. There's not a lot to dissect here as the Lakers had a very dominant performance on both sides of the ball, but don't expect the Heat to just lay down. They have several players that can have a great game that changes things in any given game. Can't wait to see game 2.
