Splinterlands to Offer Discounted WAX Land Sale on Atomic Hub
Media, PA - 3/1/21
In celebration of the completion of a recently announced NFT bridge between Splinterlands and the WAX blockchain that allows players and collectors simple transfers of assets, the hit blockchain game will launch a while supplies last sale of discounted land claims on March 6th.
A total of 4000 Plots, 40 Tracts (1 Tract = 100 Plots), and 4 Regions (1 Region = 1000 Plots) will be sold for WAX at a 20% discount, beginning at noon EST on 3/6. This land sale will be the first opportunity to buy Splinterlands land at a discounted price since the completion of Stage 3 of their land presale at the end of 2020. The sale will be live until the land sells out, or for 24 hours, whichever comes first.
In the future Splinterlands Land Expansion, landowners will be able to use the resources of their land to create and craft exclusive item and spell NFTs that will be playable in the existing Splinterlands card game. These items and spells will never be sold by Splinterlands, but only available via peer2peer markets from landowners who produced them. This development is yet another in the long list of Splinterlands offerings that give players maximum control and ownership of their assets, making Splinterlands one of the most rewarding games in the world today.
While seemingly simple, the Splinterlands/WAX bridge promises to bring a great deal of attention to both Splinterlands and to WAX. It is a brilliant example of what the future may hold for blockchain and NFT development, as well as the future for play-to-earn gaming as a genre.
“One thing that has always been an important goal in the cryptocurrency and blockchain space is interoperability,” says Matt Rosen, Splinterlands co-founder and CTO. With this bridge, Splinterlands continues to lead the pack in blockchain gaming and deliver continually elevated levels of power, control and rewards to their players.
