Hello all! I've gained a decent amount of followers on the short time I have been here on Publish0x and I am stunned by how well everything is going. You are all engaging and fun people to interact with!
But that leads me to the topic of this post. I have made a few different types of posts so far. Most of them are just recaps of what have been going on for that day, some are none sense tell an odd story, and some are intended to inform you about a certain topic.
So what am I getting at? I guess what I am saying is that no matter what you want to blog about, just make sure there is a direct purpose to the post. I often see a lot of posts that do not add value to readers and because of this it does not add value to the writer either (No tips, man!).
When I make my daily recap posts, I make sure you know what you're going to be viewing. It may not be filled with the deepest level of thinking or the top level of market analysis but it does provide base level information so that any new audience member can just into the conversation. I always make sure to leave a spot encouraging for comments and questions that way I can drive more engagement.
My random posts that are just telling a story about my day are usually let wife open. I make it known beforehand that the post is going to be a wild ride and by the end of the story telling I usually ask if anyone has been in a similar situation. It's hard to just post a story and then not want any feedback from your audience. Who is to say you won't find someone in the comments who hasn't been through the same situation?
I've made a few informational posts and they've done very well, too. I'm not expert on this platform, and the subject matter that is usually on this site is often over my head. But that doesn't stop me from making informational posts based on my level of knowledge on the topic. But explaining a subject in terms and language that I use/understand, I can maybe help other readers who share my low level of knowledge on the subject. By helping, I mean that I am able to introduce topics to them without overwhelming them right at the rip. An example would be from my recent Tezos (XTZ) post. I'm no expert on crypto, but I was able to explain my level of understanding. I also shared that post on social medias and a lot of my followers share my level of knowledge and they thought the post was super helpful and interesting even though they do no understand crypto or blockchain.
So my purpose for this post is to just have you take a step back and think about what you're really posting! Are you trying to entertain someone or are you trying to inform someone? Are you trying to get opinions from your audience or are you trying to give your opinions to you audience? All these questions should really be considered before spitting out an article for your followers to read. Remember, you cannot get value from your readers if you are not providing them with value.
