Have you ever felt exhausted... even after sleeping?
You can’t focus, not even on simple things.
You're not sure if you're sad, tired – or just... empty.
In those moments, everything feels foggy.
And here's the painful paradox: you know you need support, but you have no energy to ask for it.
Psychologically speaking: exhaustion isn’t just physical
When your body is tired, you sleep – and you recover.
But when your mind is tired, sleep isn’t enough.
There’s a build-up of unspoken worries, unprocessed emotions, postponed decisions.
And your brain enters a state called functional shutdown – you get through the day doing the bare minimum, with no spark, no direction.
Why don’t you feel motivated?
Because you no longer have mental space.
A tired mind rejects anything that feels like “one more effort” – even good things.
You ignore calls, leave messages unanswered, avoid going out. Not because you don’t care – but because you’re full inside.
What helped me during one of those periods
I had a time in my life when it felt like everyone wanted something from me, and I had nothing left to give.
What saved me wasn’t a big solution.
It was a small question, asked quietly at night:
👉 "What could I do tomorrow that would give me 2% more energy?"
I didn’t get magical answers. But I started small:
-
Turned off notifications.
-
Ate something warm, without rushing.
-
Took a 10-minute walk outside, with no headphones.
-
Said “no” to a draining meeting.
For the first time in weeks, I felt like I wasn’t fighting myself.
I was starting – gently – to be on my own side.
When you can’t do it all, do a little
And do it with intention.
Not for progress. Not for results.
But to remind yourself: you matter.
Even when you’re tired.
Even when it doesn’t show.
Today’s gentle question:
If you could choose just one small act of self-care today... what would it be?
Not because you “should”.
But because you deserve to feel well. Even 1% better is a beginning.
