Following the recording by Craig Wright on April 11, 2019, of the Bitcoin White Paper at the US Copyright Office, the US Copyright Office yesterday issued a statement in which it recalls that "in a case in which a work is registered under a pseudonym, the Copyright Office does not investigate the existence of a provable link between the applicant and the pseudonymous author. "
The Bureau also states that such a recording represents only "a claim for an interest in a copyrighted work, and not a determination of the veracity of the claims contained therein".
