The Hong Kong exchange has once again authorized the opening of accounts without the need for a minimum amount of $ 10,000. Platform representatives noted that the exchange was open to everyone following a significant demand in the last six months from cryptocurrency traders wishing to use a professional trading platform.
"For six months we have been preparing for a new wave of users and we can now open Bitfinex to a wider audience," said Jean-Louis van der Velde, CEO of the exchange.
He further stated that by removing the minimum deposit requirement of $ 10,000, traders are now setting the amount limits they want to trade or hold on the Bitfinex exchange themselves.
Now, traders will set limits themselves.
In addition to removing the $ 10,000 minimum threshold, Bitfinex also announced the upgrade of its infrastructure and a series of new features to improve service, including:
Improved customer support center with automated answers to frequently asked questions
New third-party KYC (Know Your Client) portal for faster processing of customer IDs
A section where the exchange provides users with analysis and information about each token supported by the platform
Recall that these restrictions were introduced on January 12, 2018 after a sharp increase in demand for the services of the platform, linked to the growth of the entire market.
Bitfinex offers a large number of trading pairs, as well as OTC markets.
In recent months, the exchange has featured several notable updates, listing several altcoins like Dragonchain and launching a mobile app in February.
