I first heard about noise.cash right here on Publish0x. Sorry I can't shoutout the original blog post, as I can't recall who was writing about it. But a big thank you to whoever it was. Anyways, I'm always exploring these new crypto platforms, so I decided to give it a shot.
What is noise.cash?
Perhaps it is best for the platform to explain itself in its own words, as they appear to new visitors:

Essentially, it is very much like a Twitter or Facebook but a much lighter version. Your profile is limited to small icon picture and brief description. The site boasts 191k users (as of this writing). The tips earned are not going to make you rich. Much like Publish0x, they're "microtips" that slowly add up.
What kind of content is posted?
There is a lot of personal content: pictures of flowers, sunsets, landscapes, etc. But what's great about noise.cash is the "chambers" feature. This allows you to browse content by subject.

As you can see, there are some strange one (looking at you n/DrFill). But this is a great way to browse and see what the community has to offer. If you want to contribute to one of the chambers, you can post your thought/image and it's automatically posted to said chamber. What's wonderful is you don't have to subscribe to a given chamber in order to post to it.
Channels are another great way to view content. These are a bit more moderated and you have to subscribe in order to post. Here are some of my subscribed channels:

My observation is that the most active channel on the platform is OWN CONTENT. That being said, that's where a lot of spam and clearly unoriginal content is posted. It's pretty obvious when someone is trying to pass off someone else's work as their own when there's a grainy low quality .jpeg posted. There's a system in place so that you can curate content to your liking by filtering out the junk:

How are payouts done?
The payouts are done basically as often (or as infrequent as you want). Tips are paid out in Bitcoin Cash. I'm not exactly sure how they are generated, it seems to have something to do with the number of likes and if you post too much, you won't receive tips. So there are some limits in place, I'm just not sure what they are. This is what the payout screen looks like:

They suggest the Bitcoin.com wallet but I use Trust Wallet and have had no issues. I started receiving payouts the same day I signed up and started posting.
Final Thoughts
I've been using the platform for a week now. Once you start to filter out all the non-sense and low effort/poor quality content, it's a pretty fun platform. No, you're obviously not going to get rich posting noise. What I like about it is that you can receive tips not just from your own original content you post, but from comments you make on other's posts too. The community is great too; there are people from all over the world. As someone who hasn't travelled abroad, it's fascinating to see what life is like in other countries (please forgive my ethnocentrism). Aside from the solid crypto updates, there's a slew of amazing photographs and other interesting things people post from their day-to-day lives that fascinate me. I enjoy making small stacks of satoshis while viewing said content. The platform is still in its infancy. I believe it's less than a year old.
Bored? Give it a shot, make some noise!
