Tonight, Elon Musk has once again taken to Twitter -- appearing to once again be mocking the original cryptocurrency:

This seems to be pretty much par for the course for the Tesla CEO, who is clearly against crowning Bitcoin "king of cryptos"

The B Word is an initiative that will launch on July 21, 2021 - with a focus to "demystify and destigmatize mainstream narratives about Bitcoin." Further, they want to explain why institutions should embrace the digital currency and bring attention to areas of the crypto network that need support.
Set to speak for the presentation are:
- Jack Dorsey, CEO of Square
- Cathie Wood, CEO of ARK Invest
- Adam Back, CEO of Blockstream
- Michael Morell, Sr. Counselor of Beacon Global Strategies
- John Newbery, Director of Brink
To me, this seems like an attempt to "clear the air" about the environmental effects of Bitcoin mining. Clearly, Musk is not too interested in the initiative and is mocking the Bitcoin Maxis. Does this really come as a surprise? No, not to me. What's interesting is that these tweets from Musk are having no immediate effect on the price of Bitcoin:

Which brings me to my last thought of the night - I have put way too much stock in what Musk's tweets do to the price of Bitcoin (and Musk's tweets in general for that matter). Ultimately, it doesn't matter. I'm much more interested in what will be said at "The B Word" -- especially if they field questions from skeptics. I'm sure I will get more out of the upcoming presentation than I will out of any Musk's goofy tweets.
At least I did learn what the Bitcoin Maxis is - The outspoken group of Bitcoin supporters who back BTC above all other cryptocurrencies. Thanks for that, Elon.
