If using the sites that I recommend is not enough and you are in the need for more free crypto, then there is always sites that offer the ability to "Learn and Earn". I don't know who started it for sure, but in 2020 Coinbase started a Learn and Earn campaign in which you watch a short video, take a short quiz and if you answered correctly, were rewarded with some crypto. Times have changed and now we have a world where the corrupt US government is suing any Crypto exchange in order to get more money to fuel their money laundering schemes. They just today decided that Binance was evil and is suing them for more than a billion dollars. (It is funny because every member of the US government does money laundering and the whole point of crypto was so that you didn't have to answer to governments.)
A quick online search and a few articles later came up with the following names of sites that offer a learn and earn campaign. I have tried a few of them and the others have clauses that will not allow me to join. So if you wanna, try, and join:
Bitdegree- https://www.bitdegree.org/learndrops#all-learndrops, they can support US users, they do KYC and they have a number of new crypto to earn. But you don't really earn the crypto and instead earn coupons and discounts for things related to those new projects.
Phemex- https://phemex.com/learn-crypto, they can support US users, they do KYC, but when I did this earlier this year, I watched a few videos and expected to get the reward and it never came. At that time, they did the rewards like an airdrop. So if you were lucky, you could be one of the many who completed the campaign and you could receive the crypto reward, airdropped into your Phemex account. Like all exchanges, you would need a certain amount to withdraw.
Coinmarketcap- https://coinmarketcap.com/earn/ they can support US users, they do KYC, and they show over 20 cryptos to get rewards in. When I tried this one earlier this year as well, just like today, every single one of the campaigns are closed and over. So they have the program, you just can't earn anything.
Binance- https://academy.binance.com/en/learn-and-earn They do not support US users and require a KYC and the rewards are limited and first come- first serve. I didn't get a chance to try this one, but unless you are not in the US and you already did your KYC and have an account, AND you camp the site to try to be one of the first people to do the new campaign, it is most likely that you will not get it.
Bake- https://app.bake.io/learn They do not support US users and require a KYC. It is impossible for me to access a site that doesn't support US users, especially with a KYC.
Robinhood- https://robinhood.com/us/en/support/articles/crypto-learn-and-earn/ They support US users and do KYC. When I first started doing stocks in 2021, I started to get crypto through Robinhood as well as some random stocks like GME or NKD or other things like that. They did not have their learn and earn campaign when I was a member.
Revoult- https://www.revolut.com/gettheapp/?pid=website&af_channel=website_mobile They do not support US users and require a KYC. It is impossible for me to access a site that doesn't support US users, especially with a KYC. Furthermore; this site doesn't run through a browser and instead goes through a phone app.
Coingecko- https://landing.coingecko.com/earn/ They support US users and do KYC. This campaign uses a different type of reward system in which it isn't a crypto, but their own site rewards. They call them "Candies" and you can use these candies to buy discounts and coupons for things like shoes or services like Norton.
Nftb- https://nftb.io/learn-earn/ I understand the speed at which crypto and websites work. However, claiming that you offer so may crypto earning campaigns and seeing that there isn't a single one that is open any longer, means that new users like myself wouldn't be able to even wanting to create an account, if I have to get onto a waiting list for one of these campaigns.
Coinbase- https://www.coinbase.com/learning-rewards They support US users and do KYC. This may sound neutral or not bad but also not good. Coinbase is tough with their stance against the US IRS and the SEC and they don't think that crypto should be taxes as much as it is. Coinbase still has their learn and earn campaigns and these are the campaigns that I went with and earned at, in my beginning time of crypto. The fact that they are still going is a testament to their trust.
Final thoughts:::::
If I was going back into these centralized exchanges, I would pick Coinbase, just because I did business with them before. It was quick and the questions were easy and I took the gained crypto and sent it to my wallet. Coinbase is a centralized exchange and a custodial wallet, so they hold all of the crypto for you. You can stake on Coinbase, but the crypto stays on Coinbase and if you are in the US, you will be taxed on your rewards/gains.
