Splinterlands Battle Mage Challenge: Silenced Summoners...

By RealSociology | Retire by 50 | 18 Aug 2024

This week's Battle Mage rule set challenge was Silenced Summoners in which every monster gains the return fire ability at the beginning of the battle...

Silenced Summoners General strategy....

All general best practice applies, so just select your fastest and hardest cards, decent mix of attacks, and lowest mana possible summoners!

No need to worry about summoner buffs or debuffs, it's quite nice!

EVENS carnage battle exemplar

The battle below shows a battle in which I accidentally selected a Level One summoner against an L2, and still won!

Mana and rulesets:

  • 22 mana
  • Silenced Summoners only!

Summoner - The reflect guy, but with no reflect!

  1. Zenith Monk - a great tank for low mana
  2. Corpse Fiend - 0 mana soak
  3. Shadowy Presence - a 1 mana soak!
  4. Magi Necrosi - major snipe magic attack
  5. Soulstorm - main attack card, fast and awesome three damage.
  6. Halving Alchemist - nice sneak defence with shield and that halving comes in handy!

The battle...

  • round 1 - I lose my monk
  • round 2 - straight off the bat he loses his Windeku, bye! I lose my alchemist
  • round 3 - No losses, thanks to a sneaky miss on my flying soulstorm!
  • round 4 - Boom! I take out his Shiva and Corpse Fiend!
  • round 5 - A final miss on my Necrosi and I take out his Carrion Shade

Final battle analysis

YAAAWWWWNNNN Another Windeku relier.

It's always nice to beat these.

In the end speed won it for me, with several misses elicited I won, by ONE SINGLE HEALTH point!

Silenced Summoners Final Thoughts...

Don't play 4 mana summoners with slow cards and lose by ONE health point!

In the summer of 2014, when I turned 41, I set myself the goal of retiring from paid-work by the age of 52. This blog charts my own strategy and progress, and explores different theories of financial independence and 'extreme early retirement'. It also provides the odd tip on how you might also retire early!
