This week's Battle Mage rule set challenge was Noxiuos Fumes in which every monster starts the battle being poisoned. This means they lose two additional points of poison damage at the end of every round!
Noxious Fumes general strategy....
Given that all monsters are going to lose 2 health points, it makes sense to avoid very low health monsters. You're probably better off going for fewer higher health monsters.
It's worth considering tank heal I think, I tend to find the problem with triage is that the triage monsters themselves end up dying quite quickly!
Also cleanse works, again meaning putting store in yr tank makes sense!
The health givers work well, for example scavenge and life leach!
Noxious carnage battle exemplar
The battle below shows a battle featuring the cleansing Scared Llama Mage in a victory!
Mana and rulesets:
- 34 mana
- Noxious Fumes Only
Summoner - Scared Llama Mage - For the Cleanse and plus two health
- Flesh Golem - ever reliable awesome tank with heal
- Scorch Fiend - 0 mana filler
- Dr Blight - affliction!
- Goblin Psychic - tank heal
- Sreeching Vulture - scavenge!
- Mittica - main damage dealer!
The battle...
- round 1 - we trade blows for no losses, but then funmes take out my opponent's Slipspawn and Khmer Princess.
- round 2 - again we trade blows for no loss, but again my opponent loses another two cards!
- round 3 - it's all over!
Final battle analysis
My opponent selected one card with 2 health which is POINTLESS. And then a taunt card with no debuffs, terrible strategy, both of these going down in round 1 was him already lost!
My opponent suffered badly from fumes, I only lost ONE card to it.
This just goes to show how a decent looking line up can be devastated by Noxious Fumes.
Noxious Fumes final thoughts...
Don't play cards with 2 health!
