Have you ever wondered why you cry? Crying is natural for everyone; every child cries, so why the question of "men don't cry"? While crying has various functions in the human body, such as regulating emotions in stressful situations, history and culture largely prevent this function for some people. Come understand the functions of crying and a little more about the reasons why men don't cry.

Who has never cried in their life? Maybe Chuck Norris. Jokes aside, crying is natural, it doesn't have a gender distinction as many believe, because every human being tends to cry when they are born regardless of their sex, therefore everyone cries and it's part of each person.

Crying is a natural mechanism for relieving tension, reducing stress and regulating emotions. The idea that you can't cry makes no sense and has nothing to do with being a man or a woman, a child or an elderly person. Anyone who needs to activate the crying mechanism because they are going through a difficult situation should cry. After all, besides relieving these complicated moments, crying also serves to protect the eyes, since tears cleanse and protect them, and curiously, it can even improve mood—who hasn't heard the expression "I cried with laughter"?

Because it's something natural and a bodily function, I believe it would be even more logical if people stopped being afraid and used it to their advantage. Imagine the following situation: something very serious happened that caused an emotional imbalance in you. Instead of despairing, you can use the crying mechanism to relieve yourself and return to your rational mind to solve the problem.

Men don't cry?

The question "Do men not cry?" is not about whether men should cry, but rather about why society seems to deny space for crying. The reason seems to have been lost in time, but it remains present in the culture, with various songs having part of the title with "men don't cry," films portraying scenes where masculinity cannot be shaken by crying, and much of the culture portraying men as unshakeable. Meanwhile, on the other side, there is greater understanding, more patience, and greater empathy.

An example that could explain the origin of this would be war scenarios, where women and children are the first to be rescued, leaving men behind. Furthermore, a large part of the military is composed of men, which means that in a war situation, it's not worth enduring, and that's it; nobody will save you.

In this sense, given the historical context of wars and the portrayal of how a man should behave in a culture, the reason for the phrase "men don't cry" becomes understandable. However, as mentioned, it's a natural mechanism present in all human beings, which seems inaccessible to men because it represents weakness, and because of their past as protectors of the home and providers, they cannot have this. It's difficult to imagine someone who would want to be protected by a person who cries easily or who would want to date someone like that; they usually seek the complete opposite.
