Is gold gold, or is it a spice?!

The oldest ones, and look that antiquity goes back to about 5000 years before Christ, had in gold the fortress for any monetary situation: from ballast to paper money - a disused concept, but strongly in force until the middle of before the second war until accumulation Real metal that dates back to the beginning of the great civilizations and colonialism that went from the Americas, in the 1400s to the beginning of the 20th century in the sub-Saharan and African colonies.

All disputes over the metal, or even over other commodities such as silver, oil, copper, diamond and iron, were factors that caused one or more wars.

A fact that, even today, any disturbance in the financial market makes capital rush to commodities. Because these materials, in addition to physically existing, are essential for civilization to remain in its current state or better.

A quick look at copper and silicon: the former is rarer than the latter, but the demand for the latter is much higher at this point because there aren't enough semiconductors in the world to make every production line that has some working automation.

And both copper and silicon are intercalated because without copper, there is no way to get the electricity to the devices, nor to serve as a path for the electronic boards. Worse, aluminum, which is used along with steel to transport electricity from generation to front of households, commerce and industry, enters the basket of preferences when things are tough in the financial world.

This is reminiscent, even if in passing, of Frank Herbert's book: Dune. In this book, with 5 sequels, there is a unique world in the universe with a spice: "the spice melange", able to increase the life of elites and provide fuel for ships to navigate the star seas of the galaxies, through the guild.

In a universe of castes and mysticism, whose government is far from being secular, the entire system revolves between price and mining of this spice. The book advances to a son of a betrayed faction, the Atreides, named Paul Atreides who, in the course of time, saw the guide and messiah of a warrior people called "Freeman".

But aside from the obvious, and I won't spoil the book - also a relatively famous movie with the Sting chants, but kind of out of the book - there are many hidden surprises and one of them is the sandworm. Fantastic relationship between this giant sandworm, the spice. As a Bene Gesserit would say: "Whoever controls Dune, controls the spice....whoever controls the spice, controls the galaxy!"

With commodities it's the same. By the way, the struggle for oil in the Middle East and its indirect control reminds us of the book. There must be a relationship, as the book was written during the oil crisis of the 1960s and 1970s in the 20th century in means of Irsrael six day war.

The main difference, which determines the feeling of freedom between a cryptocurrency and a physical currency, is not due to the transactional model, or even the decentralization model, or that, so far, there is no interference from national managers, but it is due to the basic fact that, in paper currency, even the digital one that corresponds to paper, the normal citizen cannot print this currency at home. In the case of crypto coins, on a larger scale and having the proper hardware, anyone in the world can make the coin!

This is the main difference between commodities, national currencies and cryptocurrencies: the first two cannot be produced digitally, cryptocurrencies can, so that financial power goes into the hands of the citizen without direct intermediaries.

Of course, there are those who have to buy and resell crypto, otherwise there would be no reason to mine.

Where the greatest strength of the crypto exists is also the Achilles' heel: without physical commodities and without national currencies, there is no way to build a computer to mine.

These elements will always be in the financial market equation.

But all that can be touched is where there will be the lifeline when there is a lot of volatility, whether digital or traditional in the financial market!

Just as Paul atreides, in the end, got his rematch, changing the system, he also caused and promoted many other problems.

Cryptocurrencies are not salvation!

they go hand in hand with everything that exists in the world and should be checked in this light, for better or for worse, like it or not!

But the freedom of cryptocurrencies, this indeed, is the necessary revolution for other segments to change paradigms and improve concepts!

good for all of us when gold that glitters like gold is really gold and not deceit!!
