In this way of thinking, the lack of oil has nothing to do with the simple pollution of the atmosphere, it has to be that if the oil runs out, the next day there will no longer be any way to make clothes, food, paint, waterproofing, plastic, lubricants, semiconductors and, guess what, electric power (transformers, for example, depend on varnish)! - Concept of sustainability: concept surrounded by a mystical aura that has gained strength in recent years: everything that has the term sustainable gains economic strength, gains pomp and circumstance to the detriment of non-sustainable products. But by the very concept of sustainability, the entire chain that makes up a given product must use non-finite inputs. Let's think about solar panels: they use lithium, or lead acid in their batteries, they use silicon on the plates (which cannot be recycled!), ie, it could be that solar panels are alternatives that are less harmful to nature... but by far they are not sustainable. - Concept of recycling: recycling processes, by analogy to those that say that cryptocurrencies use a lot of energy, spend as much to recycle finite resources, as they use a lot of electricity and lubricants. If we consider all processes in terms of their carbon footprint, we will see, for example, that a hydroelectric plant mitigates environmental damage in 40 years, which makes this type of source sustainable.
