As promised yesterday I'm back with another article for you today. This one however is written with great sadness. KuCoin for years has been mostly KYC free which, for users like me who dont want to trust crypto exchanges with personal information, is a huge positive when deciding which exchange you want to sign up to.

Now that KuCoin has decided to reverse this I think they will experience a sharp decrease in the number of new users they receive. It could even go as far as a decrease in users because of people like me not wanting to giveaway my details so carelessly. 

I'm also going to, hesitantly, predict a dip in KCS price (KuCoins native token) because of this decrease in new and existing users. 

There are still some details I haven't mentioned yet like what will happen with existing users. Firstly existing users will have to complete KYC before trading or making any deposits. Secondly this new mandatory KYC will only come into action on July 15th.

If your an existing KuCoin user who doesn't want to complete KYC to continue trading like me then I can only suggest one thing. Move to a new exchange. 

This wasn't exactly what I did though. Personally I've been wanting to move my funds to meta mask for a while and now I have the perfect excuse to do it. But, meta mask doesn't support Bitcoin and the Ethereum trading fees are astronomically high. So, instead I converted all my funds to Matic in KuCoin and then sent them to my meta mask wallet on the Polygon chain. 

From there I used my funds to buy Wrapped Bitcoin and Wrapped Ethereum on the Polygon chain. And the best bit was it only cost me $0.40 to do the whole thing! 

My only problem is that after the 15th of July I will not be able to make withdrawals to KuCoin. 

So if your a publish0x Moderator who is reading this, please add Matic withdrawals to publish0x you will save yourselves a fortune on gas fees.
