In recent news Kraken, a major crypto exchange, has had to pay $30 million to the US security and exchange commission. This is only the latest in their “crackdown” on crypto assets.

They’re also investigating Ripple. A case which has been going on for more that 2 years as it was opened in December 2020.

This is only the beginning. The SEC has there sights set on major exchanges and stable coins. 

It’s worth pointing out that for the most part this is entirely in the US. Kraken will continue its staking services outside of the US.
