How To Escape The Winter (Part 4)

Time for another instalment in the How To Escape The Winter Series (Feel free to check out the first 3 parts). This time I was once again looking through the dark corners of KuCoin for something to write about before stumbling across a new idea which I loved. Kucoin Duel Investment.

KuCoin duel investment is an excellent way of making some side profit if your already holding Bitcoin or Ethereum or Near or USDT or... the list goes on and on. It also works if your looking to buy some Bitcoin or Ethereum or any other on the list while making some money.

Now for the complicated part, explaining it to you. KuCoin duel investment is similar to signing a contract, and like all contracts, its not risk free. When you sign the contract you need to take a few things into account.

1. The Settlement Date.

This is when your contract will end and you will, hopefully, receive your profit.

2. The Target Price.

This is the most important part of the process. If you are paying the contract with (For example) Ethereum you are saying that you think at the settlement date the price of 1 ETH will be below the target price. If you are paying with USDT or another stable coin (represented as ETH-U on KuCoin) then you are saying that you think the price of 1 ETH will be above the target price.

However, if you sign the contract with ETH for example and the price of 1 ETH is above the target price at the settlement date then the contract will automatically sell the ETH you signed that contract with to a buyer who signed a similar contract. Your ETH will be sold at the target price. This means I could buy ETH at $1,257 now and sign the contract above meaning that no matter what at the settlement date I will make profit.

Now you might be asking "How do I make money if the ETH price stays bellow $1,300?". Not to worry, for the privilege of being able to buy the ETH from you at the settlement price (If the price of 1 ETH rises above it.) then they have to pay a fee even if they don't buy at the settlement date. This fee then gets paid to you. This is your profit.

This all works the other way around as well. If you sign the contract with USDT and the price doesn't fall below the target price then you also get your fee and get to keep you USDT. But if it does then you have to buy ETH at the target price.

That is why duel investment is another great example of how you can make profit on a downwards trend.
