Coinbase has been hinting at a move recently but now there stepping up their game. Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong has been a major advocate for clarity on crypto regulation in both the United States and The United Kingdom saying that if no clarity is set out soon then exchanges will develop in offshore havens.
This is just the latest in the series of clues that Coinbase could be moving out of the US. Brian has also expressed his excitement to "keep investing in the UK", been in recent talks with regulators in Abu Dhabi to try to get a licence to operate there and, as per the title of this article, secured a licence to operate in Bermuda. Where he's going to move to is anyone's guess.
Brian also put out a tweet only a few hours ago (at the time of writing) to say that he has been in talks with the SEC to try to lay down clear regulations.
Hopefully Brian will succeed in his efforts to help the SEC give clarity to all crypto exchanges, wallet providers, consumers and individual developers. If your reading this Brian, Good Luck!
