The Topsy Turvy World of being a Publish0x Blogger

By rah | rah | 24 Jan 2021

I promised this article a few days ago but had to prioritise other posts first.

Back in October after blogging on Publish0x for about three months I produced and shared an analysis (click to visit) of how my posts were performing and it seemed to be that overall people are most interested in crypto topics.

It makes sense if you think about it. Publish0x reward in crypto and so it is only natural that crypto fans will be drawn to it.

On the whole I have used this analysis as a baseline when deciding what to blog on (please note this graphic is not up to date and is from the original post back in October).

performance

I blog predominantly on crypto and my journey which I only started in June 2020. My followers and even occasional readers have followed my highs and my lows and watched (and maybe even learnt) from my experiences. i too have learnt and while the current correction hasn't thus far bitten as deep as September 2020s I am in a much healthier financial position than that particular correction had left me in.

From time to time I depart from crypto and share a personal story or some business knowledge which is usually sourced from resources that I have written for my website...

...but from time to time the community still throws me what I believe the Americans call a curve-ball.

About a week ago I researched and wrote a new post in which I compared the merits (and lack of) of three key crypto strategies and how they have performed for me alongside other analysis. The key strategies I compared were day trading, hodling and staking. it took me some time as I had to rake through a whole load of data and crunch the numbers and while this was good for me and my learning I also expected it to do well within the community

... and it didn't and I really didn't know why.

Sometimes posts bomb - plain and simple, and I have come to accept that, but it is what followed next that really surprised me.

A couple of days later I posted an article about cyber-bullying which has nothing to do with crypto. To be honest with you I had written this article for my website about five years ago and I just simply copied and pasted it (it is still mine originally - you can check out the original source if you want to referenced in my article), I made a couple of superficial modifications and hit publish.

Within 50 minutes it was outperforming the previous crypto-based post and has gone on to do much more. In terms of tips and visits it may not be the greatest article I have ever shared but I was satisfied with the response especially when bearing in mind that it was non-crypto related. Furthermore the community response was such that it led to me writing another two posts on a related topic, although the third one has not had much coverage. Maybe due to it being published on a Sunday.

It is all very strange to me and it just goes to show that no matter what you think or what the analysis says you just can't factor all variables into what you are doing. Sounds a bit like crypto to me.

i am curious as to what the experience of others is concerning topics and reception in the community

Experienced Business Owner and Coach and Tutor who now trades in Crypto. It is proving to be an interesting journey with so much technical language involved. Follow me as I learn the trade (and how to trade). Made some howling mistakes to begin with, but still learning and will share what I learn as I learn it for the benefit of the community. - RAH
