Hang on a minute before you turn off. This one is actually about crypto!
I am nothing, if not persistent. I made some mistakes with some Alts in the past and yet I cannot bear the thought of letting them go because it would be to admit defeat. I did this with Algorand and what makes that even more powerful is that there was a brief opportunity in which I could have released a bit of profit, but then held on for just a bit more. I should have followed my instincts and not my greed.
So a part of me has always thought, it doesn't really matter if a price is floundering so long as I acquiring more all the time. If it is direct buying (I have stopped doing that in these cases) then it reduces the average break even price and if I am acquiring for free then the same effect but for less cost.
Let me illustrate. I have about 80 Atom and I paid far more than they are worth, even with the recent rally in its price. However, I am staking at approx 15% which is adding about 8.0 Atom a month to my stack. Additionally, and I guess this is in mind, it is DutchyCorp's Coin of the month and I anticipate by month end to be able to add another 0.5 Atom. So in terms of growth I am gaining in the sense of the amount of asset I own.
I have always through that there would be some crossover point in which the quantity of Atom will actually create a cumulative profit, despite its price being in the doldrums.
I am now coming to the position where I believe the falling price will continue to outstrip the growth in the ever increasing amount of asset I own. In effect this creates a self-decreasing spiral which ultimately winds up in loss.
Do you think I am right?
You might also remember a while back I asked the question as to whether staking a dying token is tantamount to printing money, which in turn further reduces an asset's value on the market. During that article I used the hyperinflation in German as an illustration in which money just went mad and it was more efficient to burn the paper notes than to buy firewood.
Just throwing a thought out there for us to chew on.
As always stay safe and well my friends
