SciFi Future - BMW Powered Wingsuit
BMW Demos an Electric Powered Wingsuit That Can Fly 186 MPH, turns out this is a co-developed offering with BMW and Austrian stuntman Peter Salzmann. Stuntman Peter Salzmann had experimented for years and came up with the forward engine placement (traditional thought was place it towards the back).
So how does it work?
Powered by two 5-inch, 25,000 rpm impellers inside an aerodynamic, economical air-inlet package that is close to what BWM is famous for; styling. For safety measures, there is a dedicated on/off switch to fire it up, a two-finger throttle device, a minimal steering component, and an instant cutoff switch for emergency situations such as avoiding a bird strike (Yikes, talk about a face plant).

Duration of power? Currently the flying time is only five (5) minutes, so a short hop into the sky and then back down
How does this compare to traditional wing suit? A non-powered wing suit can reach speeds of roughly 62mph, so coming in at 186mph that is 3x the non-powered offering.
What is the cost? I did not find a cost at the time of posting this new electric wingsuit
Enjoy the Journey!
