The digital dollar: Even more info.

Well, in one of the most shocking news headlines to come out this year, the US government is looking to create a digital dollar.

No, it won't be like crypto or have any of crypto's characteristics. But, I'm telling you, it might eventually lead to mass adoption of crypto. Maybe not this year. Maybe not this decade even. But surely, mass adoption is on its way.

So here are all the deets about the new digital dollar incoming.

I was able to pull a snapshot of a picture with all the details we need to know. I can't remember exactly where I got it from, although I remember searching through Donald Trump's account and seeing it.

The idea made it's way to Congress, and it seems to not be that different from regular electronic money sending, like the ones Skrill and PayPal offer.

As you can see from the image, they actually use crypto terms like "wallet" in their explanation.

To me though, I see this digital dollar as nothing more than a way to prevent the spread of the Corona Virus through touching infected money.

Even China started burning their paper money, and although the US won't want to do that, they are trying to come up with an alternative solution.

The way the dollar would work is this: The user still keeps his account balance, but now it's digital. I'm guessing there'll be an app where the user can see his balance and ledger values showing where and how much he spent.

He would also be able to order stuff like food and toiletries from this app, again linked to only essential services.

This is a great idea, especially when you regard the fact that this virus can be spread by touching money.

The thing is, I feel that this dollar won't last indefinitely. I feel that it is a temporary thing being put in place to combat the spread of this virus, as America has become one of the places with the highest number of cases.

However, it doesn't keep any of crypto's good sides. It's fully regulated by the SEC and it can be printed indefinitely.

What happens to this digital dollar when the virus is gone?

Well, we can only wait and see.

Thanks for reading.
