I recently started collecting and saving my BAT tokens.
Previously, once my Publish0x and Brave browser payments landed in my uphold, I instantly sent them to Changelly to change them to Bitcoin and NEO.
It was a great couple of weeks for me, as my holdings increased significantly.
But when BAT jumped 6% recently, and my NEO was down a few points, I started to see the error of my ways.
I then decided to learn more about this BAT token, as well as collect enough tokens to trade.
Since a month ago, I have reached half of my target, which is simply amazing to me.
But that's not the aim of this post.
I am writing this post to show you how much BAT had moved since I started holding, and how much I would have made (and lost) if I had invested 50 dollars worth of BAT during that time.
I'm obviously not going to be able to post my whole experience, but I will post the notable wins and losses. The day numbers don't signify the actual days. I'm just doing it for clarity and ease of counting.
- Day 1: BAT moves 3% overall in the day. Profit on a $50 investment: $1.5
- Day 2: BAT keeps moving up, moves an extra 1%. Profit on compounded interest: $0.52.
- Day 3: BAT falls about 2%: Losses on newly compounded interest: $1.0403.
- Day 4: BAT falls another 0.5%. Extra losses if I kept my position: $0.25.
- Day 5: BAT rebounds by 2.1% on the day. Profits on open position: $1.06
- Day 6: BAT bounces 4% on the day. Profit on open position: $2.07.
Now obviously no smart human being should trade like this. But even if I was as dumb as this illustration shows, I'd still be in a profit position at the end of a few weeks. My overall account value would have risen by a whopping $2, despite my inability to lock in profits.
This just shows that BAT is a great investment for the longer term, as well as the shorter term.
Now I have excluded some smaller 0.5% or so losses and wins. But overall, a green isn't too bad!
Obviously no serious investor should start with a $50 portfolio, unless they're just testing the waters.
BAT has proven to be a nice option to me, and given that you can earn it for free, you should always increment your position size on every withdrawal you make. It'd do you a world of good in the long run!
As always, this isn't financial advice guys! Do your own research and don't make any important decisions with your money using the results of this case study.
