Ampleforth

Welcome AMPL, may it make us all rich

So I'm no stranger to AMPL (Ampleforth), but I sadly sold mine before the latest surge.  Now it looks like I jumped way too soon!

You see, AMPL differs so much from normal economics that it's hard to plan for.  It is the first (and most popular) elastic supply currency.  As the price goes up, supply goes up.  As the price goes down, so does supply -- if it's out of the "sweet spot" range around $1.  This way, there is market pressure to return the price to $1.  However, during periods of expansion while you still own the same percentage in total of the overall supply, the value of what you own goes up quickly.  AMPL has gone through periods of growth and retreat before.

The crazy thing is that this supply change affects how much you hold in your own wallet (or on an exchange).  So if the price is below $1 for long enough the amount you own keeps decreasing and you'll still lose even if you sell at 2x what you bought for!

On the flipside you can also buy for under $1, sell for well over $1, and gain multiples of what you put in.  It's all in the magic of the rebase.

So please, do some research before going all in for AMPL to make sure you have the stomach for the wild ride it could take you on.

One last note:  the Geyser is a liquidity bonus much like Uniswap introduced (but it existed before, and still exists after Uniswap's UNI pools).  It's a nice way to improve your earnings even further.
