If memory serves, in 2014, I decided to review this wonderful cartoon, and to my surprise I discovered its complete absence in Russian.
All the links were broken, with the cheap text “this is prohibited by the legislation of the Russian Federation.”
The Russian Federation positions itself as a democratic country, and according to its constitution, censorship is prohibited.
And what kind of censorship can there be in a democratic state for freedom? I would understand feudal society...
...although... looking around, it seems to me more and more that I live in a feudal country, or at least heading towards feudalism in its most rabid form.
But, to the cartoon. The plot of the story about Reineck the Fox is a mockery of feudal obscurantism in all its manifestations and autocracy.
"Reinecke the Fox" (1794) is an epic poem, the author's brilliant appeal to the tradition of animal epic, which developed back in the Middle Ages. "Reinecke the Fox" is a satire on feudal society.
Under the masks of animals in the poem, representatives of all classes are depicted: large feudal lords in the images of a bear, wolf, badger and small fry - hares, chickens, roosters, titmouses.
At the center of the poem is a cunning fox who always leaves his enemies and opponents in the cold. “Reinecke the Fox” is a broad panorama of the social life of feudal Germany, a work imbued with rejection of the feudal-bourgeois order, which allows the people to be equally tormented by sovereign lions, ferocious wolves, and predators of the “new type” who know how to handle their affairs without being rude by force, but by cunning and deceit.
The arbitrariness of those in power, the corruption of the clergy, the corruption of judges, the insatiable thirst for profit of the “powerful of this world” - these are very specific signs of both medieval and modern Goethe reality, against which the satirical edge of the poem is directed.
What examples of censorship and restrictions on freedoms have you encountered in a free democratic country? Or do we live in a feudal society, that’s a question for experts.

The feeling of injustice, helplessness and an evil world is how this book ended for me. The deceitful, cunning and cruel always win, good never triumphs, in general, as the famous Internet saying says, “life is pain.” On the other hand, none of the characters in this completely childish fairy tale have any kindness, sincerity, or empathy. The lion is vain, addicted to flattery, looks at other people's opinions and conducts affairs in the kingdom strangely, the wolf is cruel, stupid and always hungry, the hare, whose fate was so sad, is naive and himself goes into the enemy's mouth... Everywhere you look , continuous human vices. In naivety, you can expect a different ending, but in life things don’t always work out fairly, not the way you want.
Turn to wisdom, all who read this book, in which the author mixed fiction with truth, so that everyone distinguishes good from evil and shuns evil, and strives for good! That's what this book teaches!
