Russification of the US economy

This is not the America I imagine, the America I imagine is a truthful America, an honest America, a transparent America, an America that wants to make the world a better place, and to do this at this stage is to stand firm against oppression.

The US economy under the current administration increasingly resembles the Russian model, which puts government intervention, protectionist measures and manipulation of geopolitical resources above the principles of the free market. The United States has historically defended the freedom of movement of labor and capital, which is a fundamental principle of economic liberalism. However, recent policies, including tariff increases, industrial subsidies, and restrictions on capital movements, indicate a departure from these principles.

Tariffs, often referred to as protective economic measures, are regressive taxes that disproportionately burden low-income consumers while benefiting individual sectors of domestic industry. By artificially raising prices, these tariffs effectively redistribute wealth upward, exacerbating economic inequality, a hallmark of the Russian oligarchic system. At the same time, tax breaks and industrial favoritism for large corporations and the rich reinforce structural imbalances, further strengthening the economic power of the elites.

In addition, the strategic use of economic policy as an instrument of geopolitical influence reflects Russia's approach to resource control and financial coercion. Instead of promoting the development of a competitive global market, the United States seems to be pursuing a strategy of playing on resources, in which political goals are placed above economic efficiency.

This trend is further exacerbated by changes in foreign policy, such as the suspension of aid to strategic allies, which calls into question the long-term stability of U.S. economic leadership. As economic nationalism takes over, the United States risks undermining its role as a leading advocate of open markets and liberal economic values.

Is the U.S. economy moving towards a Russian-style model in which government intervention, wealth concentration, and geopolitical maneuvering determine economic outcomes?

Russification of the USA

In this post, I want to talk briefly about what is currently happening in the geopolitical and economic world, and about the fact that, apparently, the United States is not moving along the right path, being on a bad economic trajectory, according to economic theory. And based on information on the changing economic and geopolitical landscapes, I would argue that what is happening resembles the Russification of the US economy. The traditional US economy was guided by Adam Smith's "wealth of the nation" principle from 1776, the fundamental premise of which is free trade, free movement of labor and capital… Adam Smith, using his example of a pin factory (be sure to watch the video on the Internet), was the quintessence of the fact that a country becomes rich precisely because of the specialization of labor and comparative advantages. This is because when you trade with countries, these countries trade in a specialized way, when each region has its own specialization, some grow oranges, others potatoes, and it is this specialization that leads to changes in the unit price and productivity curve, which make rich countries and all people who live in them a similar country. But if you impose tariffs, for example, as was done with Canada or Mexico, these tariffs will increase and hinder trade, as well as retaliatory tariffs, which is why the wealth of the United States depends. Because the tariff is nothing more than a low-level consumer tax, which is compounded and creates a large burden on the budget deficit. Those who are familiar with economics and have read Adam Smith know that he was not against governments, he advocated police institutions and schools designed to raise the standard of living of the poor, because he believed that all of us people should have 100% the same opportunities, that not only rich people should have education, but also the poor. He was only against restricting the free movement of labor and capital, which concerns free trade. But the current US administration is doing exactly everything by its actions to derail the US economy, which is largely reminiscent of the book "Fundamentals of Geopolitics" by Alexander Dugin, who advocated the disintegration of the US-NATO alliance, separation and decentralization, as well as the disintegration of European countries, which creates chaos and allows Russia to expand to achieve its goals in the West. Ukraine And The Baltic States. In other words, the traditional friendly alliances between democracies are being severed and the US economy is derailing, which is seeking resources that benefit only the rich. By rejecting the free economy through its actions, the United States, as well as Russia, is moving towards the so-called resource curse. Imagine that some guy in your city has discovered valuable minerals or gold in his backyard, only he will get rich, but this will not bring wealth to the city. And what the US president called a pause in relations with Ukraine, canceling aid to Ukraine, was Washington's idea from the very beginning, the US leader was never going to sign any mining deal, everything was planned, he tried to be polite and pretended that he wanted peace. Even if they found checks written by the Russian Government addressed to the president of the United States now, they would just be found in a desk drawer, or we would see the president of America holding a poster of the president of Russia in his hands, nothing would happen, because his followers have such a mental virus that no matter what he does, They will continue to cheer him on. But there's good news: you can't play with a systemic economy, as it's millions and millions and millions... There are billions of people who work independently of each other, guided by conscious personal interests (the example of Adam Smith about the pin factory). And I'm not a visionary, I think from an economic point of view, so I'm not predicting the future, but I can give you an idea of what's likely to happen, which is that the market will go down, oil will be subject to huge volatility, tariffs will hinder development, and volatility will harm the economy, and the United States is at great risk. by rolling the dice to invest American taxpayers' money in the field of cryptocurrency, in which many strange things are happening, and interpreting what is happening at every geopolitical step, According to what the President of the United States has done since he took office, none of this looks like good economic times for the United States and for the world. We can only wait and see. The US president is going against the "wealth of the nation", against the free movement of labor and capital, against free trade, and this is leading to the weakening and impoverishment of America. And what is happening in America now is aimed at making the rich richer and the poor poorer, which mimics the Russian economic model of resource extraction and intimidation of neighbors, when the rich get richer and everyone else is just "little people" who can't do anything. Don't ask "why", but think about why we didn't reveal this truth sooner. but now we know about the reduction in aid to Ukraine, and now about the reduction in free trade, this will lead to the fact that there will be no one left except a few rich people in whose hands resources are concentrated, as it looks in Russia.

Russification of the USA

Putin: "My goal is to destabilize the EU, the USA and NATO."
Trump: "Genius! I love this guy! Look at what I'm doing for you."

It is market conditions that make countries rich. Trump is turning away from the fundamental theories on which America is based.

The world will never be the same. It's very sad, but the sooner we adapt to the new circumstances, the better. In a way, I think it's good that it happens so fast, because the faster it goes, the faster it fails. Light always overcomes darkness.
