Strange terrorist attack. Strange actions of the police. Strange actions of terrorists. Strange words from the president. Conflicting messages.
And all these oddities suggest that somewhere we have already seen all this. All these oddities are very reminiscent of something...
In general, questions are multiplying, but there are no answers.
Let's systematize all the facts and oddities about the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall that are currently known.
One of the best analyzes of the situation with Crocus City from Alexander Rusin.
Absence of police and National Guard. Usually, to ensure security during public events, at least one police squad is on duty at the entrance. For large events, up to complete cordoning off of the perimeter.
This time there was not a single police squad or National Guard patrol near Crocus City Hall.
The Pavshino police department, located in the building directly opposite Crocus City Hall, either did not work at all, or there were no employees on site.
Employees of three other Krasnogorsk police departments, which were located 1-2 kilometers from Crocus City Hall, did not have time to arrive before the terrorists left the complex and drove away.
The Russian Guard also did not have time to arrive before the terrorists left, although two branches of the private security service of the Russian Guard are located 3 and 5 kilometers from Crocus City Hall.
The arriving police forces, the National Guard and SOBR did not meet the terrorists’ car even as it left the scene of the terrorist attack, and did not encounter it on the way to Crocus City Hall, which is especially strange, as if they were all driving to the scene of the terrorist attack by routes other than those used by the terrorists, to leave the crime scene.
The location of the terrorist attack. Crocus City Hall is located a kilometer from the buildings of the Government of the Moscow Region and the Moscow City Duma, next to the Myakinino metro station. Directly opposite is the Pavshino police department. There are three more police stations within a radius of two kilometers. At 3 and 5 kilometers there are two departments of private security of the Russian Guard.
It was extremely risky for terrorists to carry out a terrorist attack in such a place. Unless they were suicide bombers. But they were not suicide bombers, judging by how quickly and orderly they left the scene of the terrorist attack and headed to the border. And they didn’t have suicide belts.
It does not appear that Crocus City Hall was chosen for the terrorist attack by chance. There is evidence that one of the terrorists visited Crocus City Hall on the eve of the terrorist attack - apparently, he studied the place, the layout of the building, the location of security posts and CCTV cameras.
But why did the terrorists choose Crocus City Hall? How could they know that a facility a kilometer from government buildings, in the middle of several police stations, directly opposite the Pavshino department, would be without armed guards and the police would not have time to respond to a call before the terrorists left the building?
Myakinino metro station. After the terrorist attack, it was reported that the Myakinino metro station, located in close proximity to Crocus City Hall, was operating as normal.
The station was not closed. But why?
How could law enforcement agencies know that terrorists would not try to escape in the subway?
Even when it became known that the terrorists were heading towards the border in their car, how did the law enforcement agencies know that all the terrorists were in the car?
It was impossible to determine that there were only four terrorists and that they were all in the same car immediately after the terrorist attack. It took time to figure all this out. Unless law enforcement agencies knew about the number of terrorists and their plan of action in advance.
The number of terrorists and their training. According to law enforcement agencies, there were four terrorists and all of them were detained. But how could four terrorists commit such a large and complex terrorist attack, and so quickly, to escape before the police arrived (according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs - 5 minutes after the call)?
They entered the building, went up to the auditorium, shot at several stores, after that they set a large-scale arson in several places, then they left in an organized manner, all together, did not forget anyone, did not lose anyone, no one got lost, did not wander around the huge complex, shooting remaining cartridges.
It turns out that the terrorists had some kind of phenomenal training, like real special forces. We worked out all the steps in advance, down to the smallest detail, literally down to the minute. And they worked absolutely calmly. They weren’t distracted by anything, they knew exactly how much time they had, they didn’t linger anywhere, they didn’t fuss. But this is not very confirmed by the footage of the arrest - the footage shows frightened people, one even seemed to be trying to hide in a tree.
If these were not professionals with serious training, then the four of them could not have carried out such a complex terrorist attack, and even so quickly as to leave before the police arrived.
Common sense dictates that there were more terrorists. But law enforcement agencies reported that there were four of them and all were detained. And they reported it almost immediately. And so confidently, as if it couldn’t have happened any other way. But how did law enforcement agencies manage to find out in a matter of hours that there were only four terrorists? Did the terrorists themselves say so? Or who? Organizers? Or the customer himself?
How did the terrorists get to the Bryansk region? The terrorists not only managed to leave the crime scene before the police arrived, but also drove almost to the border and were detained in the Bryansk region. How did they manage to get so far without hindrance, why were they not stopped anywhere, why did they not encounter either the police or the National Guard at the exit?
And the terrorists didn’t get caught in Friday’s traffic jams either.
It is alleged that terrorists were deliberately allowed through at checkpoints in order to find out where they were going. But why? We found out where they were going - to Ukraine through the Bryansk region - what does this give? Nothing!
It will still not be possible to present a claim to Kyiv on this matter, especially now, when Ukraine is shelling the Belgorod region, Donbass and Crimea, when Ukrainian terrorists twice blew up the Crimean Bridge and committed dozens of war crimes - what does Kyiv care about Tajiks driving towards the border after committing a terrorist attack ?
Then why were terrorists allowed through at all checkpoints right up to the Bryansk region?
What if the terrorists had committed another terrorist attack along the way, shot someone or taken them hostage?
What if they had managed to turn somewhere and hide, if they had scattered in different directions, if one of the terrorists had left the car and put someone else in his place?
How could law enforcement agencies know that this would not happen and that the terrorists would reach the Bryansk region without committing other murders and terrorist attacks?
Why didn't you change the car? The terrorists drove to the Bryansk region, where they were detained, in the same car in which they arrived at Crocus City Hall.
Why didn't they change the car?
The terrorist attack, apparently, was prepared in advance and very carefully. The terrorists had the means. They could prepare not one, but several cars to change them in an attempt to escape.
Again, a contradiction arises - if the terrorists were so stupid that they didn’t think of changing the car, then how did they manage to carry out such a complex and large-scale terrorist attack, so quickly and in an organized manner, and also under the noses of the police?
If the terrorists were so prepared that the four of them were able to carry out such a complex terrorist attack, so quickly and harmoniously, why didn’t they change the car and manage to escape when they were allowed to drive all the way to the Bryansk region?
Was there a minibus and dog handlers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs? The first news reports about the terrorist attack talked about a minibus from which armed people were getting out. They even showed footage from a dash cam that actually showed a minibus with someone getting out.
There were reports on the Internet that the minibus was standing next to the car of the canine service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and allegedly an employee with a service dog even examined it.
Then the reports about the minibus and dog handlers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs were refuted and only the Renault car with a black roof was reported, in which the terrorists were detained (by the way, a very noticeable car, especially from the air - is it a coincidence?).
It seems that the issue with the minibus is closed.
But if there were not four terrorists, but more, and there could have been more of them, then they should have arrived in two cars.
Again, the terrorists had weapons, a large amount of ammunition, and fuel to set the building on fire - it was somewhat difficult to bring all this in one car. It is unlikely that lighters and a couple of bottles of gasoline would be enough for such a large-scale arson that firefighters were unable to extinguish.
Therefore, the question of whether there was a minibus remains open.
Large-scale destruction of Crocus City Hall. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, rescuers dismantled 400 cubic meters of collapsed structures of Crocus City Hall. This is a very large volume.
The footage from the removal of the rubble shows a large number of metal structures. This suggests that the fire was very strong and neither the fire extinguishing system of the building itself (if there was one at all) nor the arriving firefighters could cope with it.
But at the same time, you can see in the footage that part of the complex has survived. If the complex itself had been built from materials that quickly ignite and burn strongly, the entire complex would have burned to the ground, entirely. But this did not happen; the fire was stopped.
The conclusion suggests itself that the reason for the collapse of the roof of the concert hall and the large volume of destruction was precisely a serious arson, for which the terrorists used a large volume of incendiary mixture, perhaps some special compositions that cannot be extinguished.
This indicates a carefully planned terrorist attack.
Perhaps the fire was set in order to hide some of the evidence, for example, extra weapons and ammunition that were used in the execution of spectators, some of the equipment left by the terrorists that was not going to be handed over (the equipment of the “extra” terrorists), maybe what - documents that were used by terrorists in preparing a terrorist attack and delivering weapons (service IDs of intelligence officers, something else), means of communication.
Ammo left behind by terrorists. More than 500 cartridges left by the terrorists were found at the site of the terrorist attack. This is quite a large number.
Why did the terrorists leave such a large number of cartridges unused?
This can only be explained by the fact that the terrorists acted according to plan and were very limited in time, trying to leave the scene of the terrorist attack before the police arrived.
This is very different from Islamist fanatics.
The fanatics would have shot all the cartridges they had with them and only then headed out. Or they would take the cartridges with them to shoot at the police on the road.
The large number of cartridges left suggests that the terrorist attack was planned and carried out not by fanatics, but by well-trained, cold-blooded people who strictly adhered to the plan and the main thing for them was to leave the crime scene on time.
And this also suggests that the terrorists knew exactly when the police and SOBR would arrive. Or they received information from outside, so as soon as they were told to leave, they threw away unused cartridges and left the building. And they didn’t even prepare to shoot back from the police.
Uncharacteristic behavior of Islamists. The behavior of the terrorists in Crocus City Hall is uncharacteristic of Islamists, who are usually fanatics and go to the end, often using suicide vests and blowing up themselves and those around them.
The terrorists in Crocus City Hall did not have suicide belts, they acted very calmly and organizedly, they did not even shoot all the cartridges, trying to escape from the scene of the terrorist attack in time.
It is not at all typical for Islamists to hide from the scene of a terrorist attack. Arson is also not very typical for Islamists; they usually carry out explosions.
The terrorists did not shoot back at the police when they were detained, did not shout “Allahu Akbar” at the camera, did not shout out their slogans and demands, and did not hang out their flags.
The behavior of terrorists is more similar to either the actions of special forces or the actions of militants trained with the participation of special forces instructors, who gave them clear instructions and taught them to work according to plan, without fanaticism, strictly following instructions and/or external commands.
Lack of demands and clear goals of the terrorist attack. The terrorists did not put forward their demands, which in itself raises questions. What goals did they pursue and what did they achieve?
