Location: Bristol, West of England, UK
Event: The annual Bristol International Balloon Fiesta 2024
We attended this fantastic event this weekend. The weather was great; sunny, calm winds - so perfect for watching the wonderful array of hot air balloons on show.
This annual event has run for 46 years and remains free to attend for all. This makes it a fun Summer event to attend for those who can make the journey to Bristol every August to watch lots of hot air balloons and other entertainment throughout the long weekend fiesta.
You're always hoping the weather allows for the perfect show so the hot air balloons can lift off, and happily this weekend it did not disappoint.
The highlight of the event includes an early morning and late afternoon mass hot air balloon ascent. This year we were treated to a large variety of colourful balloons...
First up we saw a rather friendly looking dragon balloon inflate and ascend into the blue sky. The only fire seen was that used to heat the air inside the balloon!

Speaking of fire, next up was this beautiful fire-like balloon:

Then we were treated to this colourful serpent:

Then we had one of my personal favourites:

It was quite amazing to watch so many balloons inflate and ascend over the city on such a fabulous day:

Watching over it all were these rather ominous looking creatures, but at least they were smiling!

It was the perfect day. We walked back into the city which has an amazing vibe and there is a river running through it which makes for great photo opportunities. We got to take this nice late evening scene over part of the city.
Hope you liked to see a little about the event. If you're ever in the UK in early August look it up! If you have any questions about it, feel free to ask.
