The Periodic Elements NFT: a bit of history and how it goes on - UPDATE #12

In the fall of 2020, the world of NFTs was constantly growing. A little by chance we got to know the WAX blockchain, its costs accessible to many and the ease of creating NFTs with connected platforms.
At first we started buying some NFTs. Our collection grew with a few pieces every day, but we wanted more. We wanted to contribute to the growth of this corner of the crypto world with something of our own. We could not contribute with artistic works, we are not capable of it, but we also did not want to create something useless.

We stopped to think about more projects, we made some attempts, but nobody really convinced us. One day we had a slightly different idea from what we could find around. We weren't artists, we couldn't contribute graphic pieces and so we had to contribute something totally different.
NFTs had to create curiosity not so much because they were beautiful to look at, but because they had to have a parallel functionality. After a few days we came to the idea of adding knowledge to the NFT collection. When one of us said this, I'm honest, we laughed a bit, but looking back, that was the way we could follow to distinguish ourselves.

Something was needed that would allow to have a well-defined collection, allowing those who approached to know what they could expect from the future and maybe be able to combine some playful activity.

The Periodic Table is the result of those evenings spent thinking: we could do it without being artists, every NFT could be accompanied by a sharing of knowledge, chemistry is a topic that has passionate or hated almost everyone's schooling and above all it could be flanked by a playful part: the molecules.

In October 2020, the first NFT dedicated to Hydrogen was released. It took a few days to get someone's attention. We gave away the first NFTs in Telegram chats and in a first giveaway organized on Publish0x. From the beginning we chose Publish0x as a diffusion site where we can refresh the student memory a bit with information on the various elements and where to organize our giveaways. It took us more than 48 hours to complete all the slots of our first giveaway: 20 NFT of hydrogen.

However, there was someone who discovered us late and so slowly, in the subsequent giveaways we have always tried to increase the number of NFTs and tried to move participation by changing the rules. Sometimes we liked the result of the new rules and reused it, other times we liked it less and so it remained an experiment in its own right.

The Elements of the Periodic Table were spinning in the blockchain. With the release of the tenth element it was time to try to make known the second step of the project: the molecule.
Water was the first molecule with which we engaged our supporters in remembering what the elements were for: more elements come together to create something else.
Celebrity and special event NFTs were also later introduced. Each with its history and its motivation to combine knowledge on the Periodic Table.

The community grew week by week and the project required more and more time to devote.
At some point work commitments and family commitments took over and our rhythms dropped to a certain point stop. In our thoughts, however, remained the collection of the Periodic Table and the regret of knowing many of you waiting for news that was not coming. We were aware that a bit of continuity was needed to restart and that until that moment we would have remained stationary.

The last giveaway launched concerned element number 50 (tin) with an article from about 40 days ago, not yet distributed. In that article a new contest was promised for a new molecule that would be launched with the sending of this element. Since then no news.

As with the best television series, we are at the first episode of the second season. We leave on tiptoe with this descriptive article, a bit like an introductory trailer to those who missed the first season.
In the next few days the replica of the last episode will be broadcast: you will find out exactly what we have in mind, but the suggestion is to stay tuned on the Telegram channels to avoid missing the opportunity to be there.

We are back and we can only apologize for the silence with which we left you.

The project of the Periodic Table continues and there are still many elements to be rediscovered. There will be times when we go faster and times when we go slower. There will be rituals already known and novelties that will be introduced. What is certain is that at the end of the project you will have had the opportunity to know all the Elements of the Periodic Table and the possibility of having collected NFTs of elements, molecules, celebrities and special events in your portfolio. What is certain is that the project will not be abandoned before the last element.

What the future holds for us you will discover along the way, what we can promise is that we are here.

And now: Curtain up!
