Hello everyone. I just received authorization to be an author/publisher on PublishOx, so here is my introduction. My name is Pete and I am born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. I still live in Brooklyn today...in the neighborhood called Greenpoint. Greenpoint is the northern most neighborhood in Brooklyn, neighbored by Queens, NY. I am currently a Captain for the FDNY working in Brooklyn. I transferred out of Manhattan after working 2 and half years there as a Captain. I am married to a comedian named Rachel Feinstein. Our two careers are very different than the conventional 9-5ers.
I remember hearing about Bitcoin for the first time in 2013 when the price first broke $100. Unfortunately, I did not invest at that time, but, I did take that opportunity to slowly start learning about Bitcoin and its potential. Once Bitcoin broke $1000, I decided to really start researching it more heavily. I remember it dropped to around $800 and I thought that I was "buying the dip." Unfortunately again, the price dropped all the way to around $200. I thought that was the end of that experiment. I just had BTC sitting in my wallet for years collecting "virtual dust." Then, leading up to the last halvening, Bitcoin exploded and the rest was history. What a ride watching Bitcoin climb all the way up to almost $20,000! And then the collapse happened again.
I see a lot of similarities and history starting to repeat itself. The next Bitcoin halvening is coming up and the crypto markets are starting to show some life again. I am excited to see where crypto goes from here. I believe that it is here to stay...maybe not all the alts that are on the market. But, I do believe that the next Amazon, Apple, Ebay, Banking, etc will manifest once all the dust settles. I also believe in sound money, and I can see Bitcoin being a digital gold. Honest money is something that I think this world needs. I am not a fan of loose monetary policies and fiat currencies. The stock market may be very bullish right now, but when it crashes, I think that it is going to crash big. That is why I believe in diversification and having some investments out of the traditional markets. Enter cryptocurrencies. I believe that Bitcoin is the king/gold, and the alts are the silver/copper. I can see Bitcoin being used for wealth preservation and large purchases and alts being used for everyday expenses.
My wife has a pretty big following in the comedy world. She does a podcast on Spotify called, "Three Girls, One Keith." She co-stars with Amy Schumer, Bridgette Everette, and Keith Robinson. She doesn't know too much about the crypto world, and she doesn't share the same political beliefs as me, but that didn't stop her from being a guest on Off the Chain with Anthony Pompliano. Here is the link to that episode...
Here is the blurb from that episode: "Rachel Feinstein is an actress & stand-up comedian. She’s married to a Captain in the NYFD who has been in Bitcoin for the last six years. In this conversation, Rachel and Anthony Pompliano discuss the daily routine of a comedian, how Rachel builds her career, what she finds so funny about finance folks, and she tells a number of hilarious stories about her husband and his friends’ obsession with Bitcoin.
