Horizen has been hanging around the 100 mark in ranking, and their token price has seen a steady grind up since spring lows. Should you waste your time learning about this? Yes. Yes you should.
Yet another native token ecosystem offering anyone to join, run a node and build with their SDK, Horizen has a cool tech trick up it’s sleeve. zkSnarks enable rock-solid privacy, as well as some interesting use cases in keeping blocksizes small, operating specialized sidechains and keeping secrets while transacting.
So, who builds on it? Well, there is already a chat app as part of their Sphere wallet. When transacting with their ZEN token, you have the option of private or public transactions, meaning the chat can be secure P2P. Their mainnet is live and the chatter seems to be only about how to attract folks to the ecosystem they are building. Good place to be!
They are active in the podcast world, Telegram and AMAs. Their Discord is WHERE IT’S AT. There are weekly engineering meetings and you can undertake bounties that help the ecosystem to be paid in ZEN. The team is not neglecting education- they have a robust academy. Yes, a DAO is forthcoming and it looks like they have already set the stage for Decentralization. Started back in the heady days of 2017, this project suffered the doldrums with grace and does not smell of rugs. I'm not a ZenVangelist... yet, but you can be. Like most of the projects I mention on this blog, this token has seen massive gains in the time it took me to research and write this post. It went from 103 to the high 90s with steady gains over 2 weeks of 30%. Why? It's a no-nonsense project with great privacy tech and amazing potential. It's got a long way to catch up with the similar platforms Cosmos (ATOM) and Solana (SOL), but as society becomes more technocratic, the privacy features are a major draw to a growing market.
