"Bleeding Heart" contains 3 chipped, plastic pearls of wisdom from the thrift store:
1. Don't fall in love until you fall apart
2. The sharp tongue is actually dull, and
3. Your shallow grave is deeper than you think
If you fail to apply these precepts to your life, you will come to the end of your own song with the understanding that:
4. Everything is impossible
The silver lining of course is that "The things which are impossible with men are possible with God" (Luke 18:27). Just make sure that when you're standing at the edge of the abyss, and are about to throw yourself over the cliff with your bleeding, bleating heart in your hand,
That you don't actually do it. A lot of people do. The possible begins where the impossible ends. I'm saying for my own benefit, and apparently have been for almost 25 years.
But you have to repent. Of the desire to avenge yourself in the 4th stanza included. Your shallow grave is deeper than you think.
Tread lightly.
Thanks for listening.
Bleeding Heart
I don't want
to run no more
nail my blankets to the floor
spill the wine
in the sink
your shallow grave
is deeper than you think
your shallow grave
is deeper than you think
I got 2 black wings
and a bleeding heart
don't fall in love
until you fall apart
no matter what you say
no matter what you do
I'm gonna pay you back
for what you put me through
if it's the last thing I ever do
whatever it is
whatever it was
I want your hands to love me again
I got rhinestone teeth
and a buckskin bride
the garbage bags
are hanging out to dry
I won't push
if you won't pull
sharpen your tongue
until it's dull
baby,
everything is impossible
whatever it is
whatever it was
I want your hands to love me again
