The Princess of No Return

Wrap around me
your arms
keep me warm
I haven't been this scared
since the day I was born
I still hate you, baby
but I miss your company

Here she comes flashing
her best lie-detector smile
she feels so existential
when she looks you in the eye

The steering wheel is wasted
beercans are floating in the tub
we will live like this forever
wheels spinning in the mud

So baby let's get stoned
and maybe they'll leave us alone
I feel so Satanic
are we comfortable yet?

In time I will be free
     there won't be anybody left
     to bother me
with my baby by my side
     into the sunrise I ride

The jury-bomb is burning
the houseflies all have names
your tractor-pulpit-bullpen
is going up in flames

So let's go back to my place
and wait for the bomb to drop
I wanna be a kung-fu angel
I wanna weep my way to the top

So get up off your low horse
get up off your feet
the sky is full of diamonds
all the diamonds you can eat

In time I will be free
     there won't be anybody left
     to bother me
with my baby by my side
     into the sunrise I ride
