Chapter Fifteen

1. Every cornfield a novel; every jungle a dictionary; every garden a poem.

2. Words are flowers, cornstalks, trees. It isn't necessary to bludgeon them with plows to make them grow. Tend the soil around the roots, cultivate the inspiration, plant the seed, and the trees will write themselves.

3. A writer is a farmer who goes surfing on a cornfield.

4. A writer is a surfer who plants flowers in the ocean.

5. Milk from a thunderstorm; honey from a hornet's nest.

6. Rats of peace/doves of war; men who speak in beehives.

7. A thesaurus trapped in every drop of honey.

8. A flock of words takes to the sky, teaches animals to read.

9. Birds in flight; a poem balanced on a fencepost.

1. Cada maizal, una novela; cada selva, un diccionario; cada jardín, un poema.
