Outer Wilds came out a few years ago.
But a timeless game of this caliber never gets old. When I heard about it, I imagined something simple and mysterious...and that's exactly what this game is!
A permanent mystery and a restful simplicity. The gameplay mechanics are based on the exploration and knowledge of a universe.
And that's all ! it's a very clever puzzle. Many exploration games entice the player with rewards, such as a sword or a trophy. But Outer Wilds rewards the player with a new question about what happened to a people who disappeared thousands of years ago: The Nomai.

Since this is a spoiler-free article, I can't go into the details of the story, but I wouldn't need to, because Outer Wilds is a feeling and atmosphere game. And an article dealing with the atmosphere of a planet whose core is a black hole and whose surface gradually disappears during the game should be evocative and enticing enough to make anyone want to play it. I hope so. Because that's how I heard about it.

It's simple, since I played it, I try to convince everyone to play it in turn. But these people stop there and consider the graphics old-fashioned or childish, the simplistic gameplay and the banal story. Is it a banality to discover that we were born too late? Is it simplistic to moor at a solar station spinning at the speed of a comet around an incandescent sun? Is it old-fashioned to sit and watch a storm blast an island into deep space? Because Outer Wilds is above all about travel to unknown lands. Little moments like "toasting a marshmallow" or discovering a millenary plan to find the origin of everything. And damn music. Music, you have to listen to it! Nostalgic and sad. This game started very far and arrived very far. A student project at the base, and it has become one of the best games of the decade. The only annoying thing about this game is that you can only play it once.
Please, play it.
