Russian government since a long time try to ban Bitcoin and others cryptocurrencies.

The Russian Central Bank has come out consistently in support of a ban and remains resolutely opposed to Bitcoin.  It seems, however, that implementing such a rule will prove difficult – and that has been acknowledged by the Russian government rightly recently.

Alexei Guznov the director of Bank of Russia legal department said that the effective and total ban of Bitcoin is simply impossible!

As was discovered last year a major Bitcoin mining farm was owned by an aide of Russian President. The Russian government is also considering developing finance centers, explicitly for cryptocurrency trading, on the border between Russia and China.

So it's look like Russian government want to use crypto and take all benefits from that but also want to prohibit citizens from using them.
