As reported Whale Alert Ripple - the organisation behind XRP have unlocked 1,000,000,000 XRP (it' about $230M) from its escrow wallet!
It was done by 2 transactions (each one 500 000 000 XRP)

That amount is really huge, but it is nothing new.
We Can say that it become to be a part of Ripple standard practice. They unlocks one billion XRP at beginning of each new month. Ripple already done that in October, December and January.
The procedure has always been the target of constant criticism whenever it occurs. The question that still remains is: why does Ripple need over $200M in funds every month? And what exactly they doing with that huge amount of money?
Ripple still haven't convincingly explained why they need so much money every month.
This practice is one of the arguments that the company's opponents cite. They call XRP a pseudo cryptocurrency and say it is certainly not decentralized.
