June 2021 FireFaucet Updates - A Better Referral System

Hi everyone!

FireFaucet just announced a new update (v4.8). On the menu, a total redesign of their referral system, a modification of the level rewards, and improvements of the Auto Claim system. Updates regarding the referral system are the ones I'm the most excited about!

A "New" Referral System

Previously, FireFaucet referral system was undermining and rather inefficient for users (but good for FireFaucet!). Referrers would earn 20% of all referral earnings, but only when they perform a withdraw! Which in my case, and until recently, yielded ZERO sats even with 12 referrals. Finally a few weeks ago one of my referrals reached enough to withdraw some DASH and earned me ~$0.30 in the process.

In the theory, you could have an infinite amount of referrals, earning an infinite amount of crypto and still not see any single $ if none of them reach the threshold to withdraw.

Fortunately, FireFaucet corrected this as now "...all you earnings [referral earnings] are immediately sent at the time of task completion by your referral instead of waiting for them to withdraw." Hallelujah!

On top of that, the referral page and stats have been improved. Everything is more clear and obvious now:

What didn't change is that you still need active referrals to earn...

Level Rewards Change

Another important change concerns the level rewards. I'm less happy about that one. Up to this point, your rewards to level up were in the form of a fixed amount Satoshi. I understand that this fixed amount of Satoshi is costing more and more to FireFaucet as the price of Bitcoin rises.

The fix they found is to now award the level rewards as Auto Claim Points. Although not a big deal, it's a plain downgrade from getting sats directly since you need to convert them, meaning you need extra time or take a little 5% loss if you direct convert.

When I reach level 133 I will now earn 6,700 ACPs. As of today, 6,700 ACPs is worth ~175 sats if converted with the auto claim. That's also a little downgrade from the sat reward which was previously above 220 sats for level 133 if my memory is correct.

All in all, I like the new update and appreciate a lot the change in the referral system. That was critically needed in my opinion. FireFaucet keeps improving and updating which is overall a good sign for us users.

One Million Satoshi was just the first step, and it happened rather quickly. I'm raising the barre by a lot now, I'm going after one billion Satoshi, or 10 Bitcoin (!), by only collecting "free" Satoshi. Follow my journey as I share my experience, tips and tricks I learn along the way. How long will it take me until I stack One Billion Satoshi?
