Oh, maybe we know it but we are helpless to do anything about it
Maybe we are not helpless but we are not bothered about it
Perhaps we are bothered but greed has taken its toll on us
Maybe not greed then, maybe we just lacked human empathy
Every man is busy tending his own field
Not minding if he got it through greed
Most people even rub it in your face the power they wield
They don't care and they leave you without a shield
Their excuses would always be, your character they are trying to build
Who is the judge of character when they could have helped?
Who determines who go through what to build strength?
Because you had it worse doesn't mean others have to repeat it
Our world is changing right before our eyes
We are watching it slip by and you and I are doing nothing about it
If you think you are too small to affect a change
Then you haven't been in bed with a mosquito
We seem to forget that everything in life is a seed
Yet, we are grooming the worst of the breed
Every soul is screaming to be freed
It's left for you and I to listen and take heed
