When it comes to investing, we most certainly invest more than just our money. Anything we can give or receive is an investment into something else. Eating and drinking is an investment into giving yourself energy. Giving to another in service or material is investing in the other party, whether or not you receive compensation.  The things we listen to or watch invest into our knowledge and thoughts. Times of simply sitting and thinking can invest in the entire outlook and outcome of an entire day.   

The little things matter. Everything is an investment when you really hone in on the things that impact your life. Every one of these examples can result in a positive or negative outcome, depending on what one chooses to invest their energy into. If you eat bad, the risk increases for experiencing health issues. Likewise, if you listen to educational lectures or discussions as opposed to love songs and gangsta rap (not to say the latter are bad, they’re much loved), you will see the fruits of absorbing such information in your thoughts, and, if pursued, your actions. 

Focus

As they say, you are what you think. Where is your focus? It’s a fascinating thing, to me, when one says you create your own reality. To the worrier, this can be a nightmare to even think. However, the plain words at face value are not what the proverbial saying speaks. They expand from simple thought to overall perception.

The focus of one’s energy will produce the fruit of whatever is invested. You reap what you sow. If the mind is in a state of melancholy, then so will reality. If one meditates on what is pure, righteous and of good report, then reality will be praiseworthy. In whatever we do, thought and time are required outside of practice and action in order to succeed.
