Yes, 😂🤣 sometimes it’s actually a good thing. You plan everything in your head, prepare for every possible response, and even have the answers ready before the real conversation begins. Then you go out to see how it will play out.
I remember doing this some years ago when I wanted to approach one of my bosses with a request I was almost certain she would reject.
I planned the entire conversation in my head. How it would start, what she would say, how I would respond, and how I would make my final submission. I had prepared for almost every possible scenario.
Finally, I walked into her office, already convinced that she would not grant my request.
But guess what? 🤣😂
I barely said much before my request was granted, with extra permission! 😂
I said to myself, “So, all that mental preparation just went to waste?” 🤣🤣
But thinking about it, I realised it wasn't a waste after all.
The truth is, while we prepare for the good side of life, we should also prepare for the possibility that things might not go as planned. That way, when disappointments come, we won't be completely caught off guard, and we'll be better prepared to remain calm and respond wisely.
The goal isn't to expect the worst, but to be mentally prepared for different outcomes.
Sometimes, overthinking may be exhausting, but when channelled positively, it can also be a form of preparation. 😂❤️
